All of our Great Lakes domestic products (oak, maple, cherry, walnut and hickory floors) carry the “verified sustainable” seal of the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers, Inc. (AHMI) These products have been made from domestic woods derived from the Appalachian Hardwood Territory of the United States, a 65-acre area that has been determined to be properly managed and sustainable by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
AHMI allows the wood products of certain manufacturers to carry the AHMI seal to indicate that criteria related to correct forest management have been met. The AHMI is made up of lumber producers and suppliers who manufacture and distribute lumber and products from this region.
